I Wish I Had Discovered This Years Ago
Taking part in the Choose Well program this year really made me check in with my health every day. Sometimes it was because I just wanted to rack up those points! :) I focused on keeping my sleep regular, exercising regularly, reducing stress, and trying to lose weight. I was eating better (cleaner) and tracking my food (about half the time), but the scale wasn't moving. I've suffered from food issues my whole life so I was kind of flailing. But I was feeling better. Then I started following the four principles of Bright Line Eating and everything fell into place. The four principles are: No sugar or sugar substitutes, no flour, three meals a day only, and portion control. It sounds restrictive but it has actually given me so much freedom! I make all food decisions the night before, and then during the day I simply follow the plan. No stress of trying to figure out what to eat when I'm hungry. And I feel amazing. And the pounds are falling off. I wish I had discovered this years ago. But I don't think I would have been as receptive if Choose Well hadn't gotten me on the road to thinking about my health more.
