Increasing social engagement
- Location: Portland,

As an adolescent and young adult, I experience social anxiety. In order to manage my anxiety, I continually challenged myself to engage in group activities that were of interest to me. I also learned to engage in activities for the pure enjoyment of doing them and not for competition. Finding activities that I love as part of my daily lifestyle routine keeps me engaged with other like-minded folks. As I approach retirement, I plan to increase my social engagement by joining different clubs within my retirement community like ballroom dance, tennis, golf, and hiking.
