New Patient Story

After the loss of our son to Fentanyl poisoning in 2021, I recognized the importance of community. Our community held us up and surrounded us with much needed love and support. As part of our family's healing process we all became volunteers in various ways from donating blood, to vaccine clinics, to starting a Fentanyl educational campaign, joining the Spokane Alliance for Fentanyl Education and on a more joyful journey, volunteering at the Manito Park Festival of Lights. We have made many friends, impacted lives, educated communities throughout Washington and Idaho and handed out thousands of glow sticks. Volunteering has filled a new bucket. Although volunteering alone will not replace the emptiness we feel from losing our son it does help keep his memory and spirit alive. If you are struggling with loss, I would urge you to give volunteering an opportunity to improve your life.
