A Journey of Hope: Edna’s Fight Against Malignant My sister, Ednalyn Elayda Felimon was a vibrant, active young woman with a passion for life. She’s been working for years as a healthcare worker. At 24, she passed the Medical Assistant licensure exam, an epitome woman, and an enthusiastic volunteer in her community. Her days were filled with creativity, laughter, and the joy of helping patients. But in the Fall of 2023, everything changed. Ednalyn began feeling unusual about her breasts. At first, she attributed it to her busy lifestyle but then came the persistent pain in her lower breast. After several visits to her doctor and numerous tests, Ednalyn received the devastating news: she had breast cancer. The diagnosis was a shock, but Ednalyn's spirit remained unbroken. "I have too much to live for," she told her friends and family. She embarked on a rigorous treatment plan, which included surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and countless hospital visits. The treatments were grueling, and there were days when Ednalyn could barely recognize herself in the mirror. Yet, she faced each day with unwavering determination. During her treatment, Ednalyn discovered a new passion: Cooking. She began documenting her journey with her 2-year-old daughter by taking videos and pictures and sharing her experiences, fears, and triumphs with the world. “Cancer may take its toll on my body, but it will never take my voice.” In spring 2024, Ednalyn visited her doctor for a new checkup appointment. She received new devastating news. The doctor diagnosed her with a new condition which is bone cancer stage 4, incurable. Her laughter and joy turned into heavy-hearted. Ednalyn Elayda Felimon has recently been diagnosed with breast and bone cancer. This diagnosis has brought significant emotional and financial challenges. Cancer treatment is not only physically and emotionally demanding but also financially straining.
