New Patient Story
- Location: Kelso,
I'm 51 years old, my 2 children are adults, since the birth of my kids, I have been over-weight. A couple years ago, I was so excited to go to New York for the first time ever! I had all these plans of what I was going to see and do. I became so disappointed in myself when I couldn't walk across the Brooklyn Bridge! I was just too out of breath; I had already used up both of my inhalers. I came home from vacation, determined to change things for me. I was tired of being tired, short of breath, taking blood pressure medication and being overweight. I worked hard, changed my eating habits to low calories, low carb, and low/no sugar. At least 64 ounces or more of water daily, more protein at every meal, protein shakes as snacks and a minimum of 7,000 steps a day. I was strict on myself; I literally wrote out my excuses list as to why previous "diet" attempts didn't work for me. One of my excuses was when I'm hungry. I'm hungry right now, and I wasn't prepared, so Mcdonald's it is. I now have a food backpack, that I carry with me everywhere! Protein shakes, water, High protein snacks and HMR Entrees (food that is cooked, but shelf life stable, you can eat hot or cold.) I also park my car across the parking lot as far from the door as possible. Those extra steps all add up. Without medication or surgery, I lost 135 pounds!
I no longer take blood pressure medication. I only need my inhaler if my allergies are acting up. My energy level is way high! I feel so good!
The next thing on my list to conquer is to tone up, being more consistent with daily/weekly exercise. Feel free to reach out to me, I will be happy to be your cheerleader!
